The analysis of 8,331 surgical malpractice cases in China revealed significant findings. Notably, 25.34% of hospitals faced multiple lawsuits, marking them as repeat offenders. Total compensation exceeded $269 million, with the highest payout reaching $540,008. The research highlighted that patient death was the most common injury outcome, and compensation amounts for severe disabilities surpassed those for fatalities. These insights aim to guide medical institutions in mitigating surgical malpractice disputes and enhancing patient care.
