Bismuth subgallate-borneol ointment enhances healing in surgical wounds

A novel bismuth subgallate-borneol compound ointment significantly improved wound healing in infectious postoperative wounds after anorectal surgery. In a randomized controlled trial involving 46 patients, the experimental group showed a higher granulation growth rate at all observation points and a notable increase in wound healing rate by day 14 compared to the control group. These results suggest that the ointment’s antibacterial properties effectively promote healing when used alongside standard care.
