Significant metabolic alterations and the dynamics of GLP-1 and GLP-2 were identified during liver resection in patients, particularly linking these changes to posthepatectomy liver failure (PHLF). Of the patients studied, metabolic clustering showed that 93% of PHLF individuals fell within one cluster. Preoperative GLP-1 levels were notably elevated in PHLF patients, and its incorporation into existing predictive models improved PHLF prediction, highlighting its potential role in assessing liver regeneration outcomes.
