Recent findings reveal that external-beam radiation therapy (EBRT) significantly enhances patient outcomes in hepatocellular carcinoma, addressing critical care gaps. Randomized trials show that EBRT boosts overall survival and recurrence-free survival compared to conventional treatments, particularly when combined with sorafenib. Additionally, it improves the quality of life for patients with painful tumors. As technology advances, guidelines need to integrate EBRT’s expanding role in treatment for both early and advanced liver cancer stages.
