Early cholecystectomy enhances postoperative quality of life.

A comparative analysis of surgical timing reveals that early laparoscopic cholecystectomy significantly improves postoperative quality of life (QoL) compared to intermediate surgery in acute cholecystitis patients. Among 201 patients, those undergoing early surgery achieved higher gastrointestinal quality of life index (GIQLI) scores than those operated on in the intermediate timeframe. While delayed surgery mirrored early outcomes in QoL, intermediate procedures were associated with diminished results, highlighting the importance of timely surgical intervention for optimal patient recovery.
