A study identified that the implementation of specific firearm laws could significantly reduce suicide rates across the U.S. Child Access Prevention (CAP) laws and Concealed Carry Permitting (CCP) laws were highlighted as the most impactful missing regulations, with CAP associated with a 47% reduction in suicide rates. A staggering total of 114,106 suicides were linked to the absence of these critical laws from 2010 to 2019, underscoring the need for legislatures to consider these findings in policymaking.
