A systematic review and meta-analysis involving 11,855 trauma patients revealed that prioritizing circulation over airway management significantly lowers mortality rates in cases of exsanguinating injuries. The analysis demonstrated a pooled odds ratio of 3.65 for increased mortality associated with the traditional airway-breathing-circulation (ABC) approach, especially higher in prospective studies at 9.99. The findings urge a reevaluation of trauma protocols to enhance patient survival outcomes during severe hemorrhage.
