Chen’s pancreaticojejunostomy shows low complication rates in surgery

A recent study evaluated the efficacy of Chen’s pancreaticojejunostomy in laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy among 112 patients with soft pancreatic texture and small main pancreatic ducts. The procedure yielded a low postoperative pancreatic fistula rate of 7.1%, all classified as grade B, with no grade C occurrences. The median operation time was 300 minutes, and the perioperative mortality was 1.8%. Notably, pancreatic texture and duct size did not significantly affect postoperative complications.
