Researchers conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the role of endoscopic removal in treating eroded gastric bands. The analysis included ten studies with a total of 282 patients. The results showed that endoscopic intervention was highly effective and safe for managing gastric band erosion. The average patient age was 40.68 years with an average band placement duration of 38.49 months. This study confirms that endoscopic intervention is a minimally invasive and successful treatment option for gastric band erosion.
