The systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials on enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols in bariatric surgery revealed that ERAS programs significantly reduce postoperative nausea and vomiting, intraoperative time, time to mobilization, intensive care unit stays, hospital stay, and readmission rates compared to standard care. These findings suggest that implementation of ERAS protocols should be considered for bariatric surgery patients, where possible.
