A total of 4464 adrenal surgery patients were analyzed from the United Kingdom Registry of Endocrine and Thyroid Surgery. The study found that increasing surgeon volume is associated with shorter hospital stays and fewer postoperative complications. Surgeons performing a minimum of 12 adrenal operations per year had significantly lower complication rates and shorter hospital stays compared to surgeons performing fewer operations. The results support the centralization of adrenal surgery for cancer and bilateral tumors to high-volume surgeons.
