A predictive nomogram was developed to identify patients at risk for a positive circumferential resection margin (CRM) in rectal cancer surgery. Factors associated with positive CRM included tumor grade, lack of neoadjuvant chemotherapy, specific tumor histology, surgical approach, and other tumor characteristics. These findings can be used to predict CRM positivity in the preoperative period, allowing clinicians to plan surgical strategies accordingly.
