Researchers found that scooter-related injuries have significantly increased, with patients more likely to be under 18 and require major operations compared to bicycle-related injuries. Scooter injuries were associated with higher risks of long bone fractures and paralysis. Both types of injuries had similar hospitalization durations and costs. These findings highlight the need for targeted interventions to reduce the burden of scooter-related injuries on the healthcare system.
