At a tertiary center in China, 93 patients were diagnosed with simple hepatic cysts, but 16 of them were actually identified as atypical CE1. Laparoscopy confirmed CE1 in 14 of these cases, showing high diagnostic precision. High-frequency ultrasound was effective in detecting CE1, and laparoscopic surgeries were successful in treating these cases without recurrence. This study highlights the importance of laparoscopy as a diagnostic and therapeutic tool for atypical hepatic CE1.
