Comparing local excision and radical resection for grade 2 rectal neuroendocrine tumors showed no significant difference in survival for tumors ≤1.5 cm. However, tumors >1.5 cm had significantly lower relapse-free survival with local excision. Lymph node metastasis was present in 60% of patients who underwent radical resection. The study concluded that local excision is suitable for smaller tumors without metastasis, while radical resection is more beneficial for larger tumors.
