Optimal Weight Loss Improves CVD Risk After Bariatric Surgery

After bariatric surgery, cardiovascular disease risk scores significantly decrease, showing a greater reduction in patients with optimal weight loss compared to suboptimal weight loss. 91% of patients experienced a decrease in their Framingham score one year post-surgery, with a mean CVD risk score decrease from 7.2% to 4.1%. Weight loss post-surgery is directly associated with reduced CVD risk scores, emphasizing the importance of achieving optimal weight loss for improving cardiovascular health.
