Which type of pancreatic surgery has the best postoperative quality of life?

After reviewing 45 articles on quality of life post-pancreatic surgery, it was found that recovery time varied between surgeries. Duodenum-preserving pancreatic head resection showed better quality of life compared to pancreaticoduodenectomy, with central pancreatectomy outcomes still debated. Recovery to preoperative levels took longer after total pancreatectomy. The decrease in exocrine and endocrine functions significantly impacted quality of life post-surgery. Minimally invasive surgery showed initial improvement, but long-term effects remain uncertain.
