Navigator nurse implementation in liver resections led to reduced length of stay, fewer emergency room visits, and readmissions. Patients receiving counseling and postoperative follow-up from navigator nurses had faster functional recovery and discharge, especially those with complications and undergoing open surgery. The presence of navigator nurses was an independent predictor of shorter length of stay, particularly in cases of benign diagnosis and laparoscopic approach. Overall, the implementation of navigator nurses optimized healthcare service, benefiting complex patients.
