Study finds longer time to surgery and black race associated with worse survival in thyroid cancer patients

Delaying surgery for papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) worsens survival, with longer times to surgery associated with poorer outcomes. Racial disparities persist, as black patients face worse survival independent of time to surgery and other factors. Non-Hispanic white patients have shorter median times to surgery compared to black and Hispanic patients.
