Researchers introduced an inferior vena cava (IVC) priority approach in laparoscopic caudate lobectomy, studying 21 patients with caudate hepatic tumors. Those who underwent the pure IVC approach had shorter hepatic pedicle clamping and operation times as well as shorter hospital stays compared to the combined approach group. The technique proved safe and feasible, emphasizing the importance of IVC dissection in laparoscopic caudate lobectomy.
