Patients with higher baseline BMI, diabetes mellitus, hypothyroidism, and those undergoing laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy may experience lower %EBWL in the first year post-bariatric surgery. Anxiety, depression, and obstructive sleep apnea were not significantly associated with %EBWL. This study highlights the need for tighter control of certain comorbidities to optimize weight loss outcomes after bariatric surgery.
