Patients with hepatocellular carcinoma undergoing minimally invasive hepatectomy (MIH) showed comparable likelihood of achieving textbook outcome in liver surgery (TOLS) compared to open hepatectomy (OH). MIH was associated with a shorter hospital stay, with TOLS incidence similar between the two approaches after propensity score matching. Tumor burden influenced MIH’s TOLS success, highlighting benefits and limitations in liver resection for hepatocellular carcinoma.
