Endoscopic Ultrasound-Guided Ablation Outperforms Surgery for Pancreatic Cystic Tumors

Endoscopic ultrasound-guided pancreatic cyst ablation (EUS-PCA) demonstrated superior long-term safety and pancreatic function preservation compared to surgery in selected patients with pancreatic cystic tumors. EUS-PCA group had lower rates of morbidities, adverse events, readmission, and diabetes development, with shorter hospital stay. However, surgery group showed higher complete resolution rate and lower relapse rate. EUS-PCA is a viable alternative to surgery for managing pancreatic cystic tumors.
