Radioactive Iodine Administration and Disease-Specific Survival in Large Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma

Radioactive iodine administration did not significantly improve disease-specific survival in intrathyroidal classic papillary thyroid carcinoma >4 cm, suggesting limited benefit and questioning routine use in this patient population. Age ≥55 and larger tumor size were associated with increased risk of disease-specific death, emphasizing the need for personalized treatment approaches.
