Being overweight (BMI ≥ 25) and a thin rectus abdominis penetration (< 8.9 mm) during stoma construction were significantly associated with a higher incidence of stoma prolapse (SP) after laparoscopic loop colostomy. This study analyzed data from 140 patients, with SP occurring in 23.6% of cases. Selecting a construction site that penetrates the thicker rectus abdominis muscle may be crucial for preventing SP.
