Researchers conducted a multicenter prospective study to assess remote programming’s effectiveness and patient satisfaction in stage I sacral neuromodulation (SNM). A total of 63 participants from 6 centers were divided into remote programming (RP) and outpatient control (OC) groups. The RP group showed high usability (98%) and satisfaction (96.83%). It significantly improved patient scores on the ICSI/ICPI scale compared to the OC group (median difference -13.50 vs -2, p = 0.015). There were no significant differences in phase-two conversion rates or quality of life. This study suggests that remote programming is a viable alternative to in-person programming for stage I SNM patients.
