Outcome of Laparoscopic Peritoneal Lavage for Perforated Diverticulitis

Laparoscopic lavage for non-feculent perforated diverticulitis shows lower mortality, shorter hospital stays, and fewer subsequent surgeries, compared to sigmoid resection. It is a safe alternative for select patients, especially those younger, healthier, and with less previous abdominal surgeries. Laparoscopic lavage offers promising outcomes as a treatment option.
