Effectiveness of Near-Infrared Indocyanine Green Imaging in Laparoscopic Rectal Cancer Surgery

Utilizing the NIR-ICG imaging system during laparoscopic rectal cancer surgery can potentially reduce the incidence of anastomotic leakage (AL), a serious complication. The study protocol, a randomized controlled trial, aims to evaluate AL rates in patients receiving NIR-ICG during total mesorectal excision compared to conventional surgery. Expected outcomes and sample sizes have been carefully considered, with significance for future surgical practices and patient outcomes.
