Development and validation of nomograms for predicting survival and recurrence after hepatectomy in hepatocellular carcinoma patients

Despite discouragement for hepatectomy in intermediate/advanced hepatocellular carcinoma, nomograms were developed and validated for predicting survival and recurrence. These nomograms, based on 10 and 6 independent variables, respectively, outperformed conventional staging systems. They accurately stratified risk and can assist clinicians in personalized surgical decisions, prognosis estimation, and anti-recurrence therapy strategies for patients with intermediate/advanced hepatocellular carcinoma.
