Conformal Thyroidectomy as a Feasible Option in Papillary Thyroid Microcarcinoma

Conformal thyroidectomy in low-risk PTMC patients showed advantages in perioperative management with reduced hospital stays, shorter operative times, lower complication rates, and comparable event-free survival to lobectomy. It resulted in decreased rates of vocal cord paralysis, hypoparathyroidism, and permanent hypothyroidism. This study supports the use of conformal thyroidectomy as a suitable option for patients unable to undergo active surveillance, ensuring tumor removal while preserving function.
