Global Disparities in Outcomes of Pancreatic Surgery

Pancreatic surgery outcomes: Snapshot study across 67 countries reveals significantly higher postoperative mortality rates in low-to-middle-HDI nations compared to high-HDI counterparts. Over two-thirds of patients experienced complications, with a 90-day mortality rate of 5.4%. Failure-to-rescue rates were notably higher in lower-HDI countries. Collaborative efforts among pancreatic surgeons globally are needed to address disparities and enhance postoperative care, particularly in resource-constrained settings.
