Outcome Improvement with Transcatheter Arterial Embolization/Chemoembolization and Elective Hepatectomy for Ruptured Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Spontaneous rupture of hepatocellular carcinoma (RHCC) poses a major threat, with mortality rates ranging from 25-75%. Recent research highlights improved survival rates and reduced complications through a treatment combination of transcatheter arterial embolization/chemoembolization (TAE/TACE) followed by elective hepatectomy. Active surveillance efforts, advanced diagnostic tools, and multidisciplinary management strategies are crucial for enhancing short and long-term patient outcomes in managing RHCC.
