Impact of Recurrent Weight Gain on Comorbid Conditions Progression Post-Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy

Recurrent weight gain after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy was studied in 122 patients over 2-7 years, showing significant weight loss and comorbidity remission rates. Diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia had substantial remission rates, while a recurrent weight gain ≥ 20% of maximum weight loss indicated comorbidity progression. Healthcare providers can use these findings to implement targeted management strategies for better long-term health outcomes.
