Preoperative Risk Factors for Early Postoperative Bleeding after Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Surgery

Preoperative risk factors, including age, gender, hypertension, and revisional bariatric surgery, are associated with early postoperative bleeding after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. Further primary studies are needed to explore additional risk factors for this complication, aiding in patient risk stratification and optimization. Male gender was identified as a significant predictor of early postoperative bleeding, emphasizing the importance of considering these factors in preoperative assessments for patients undergoing Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery.
