Robotic total mesorectal excision (TME) and transanal TME showed better postoperative results compared to laparoscopic TME in locally advanced rectal cancer patients. Robotic TME had lower rates of anastomotic leakage and open surgery conversions, while transanal TME had shorter hospital stays and time to flatus. No significant differences were observed in operating time, complications, blood loss, or survival. These findings support the use of robotic and transanal techniques for improved outcomes in rectal cancer surgery.
