International expert consensus on operative descriptors for rectal prolapse surgery was achieved through a Delphi process. A synoptic operative report was developed, including 16 key descriptors with over 70% consensus. This standardized reporting aims to enhance clinical communication, quality measures, and research in pelvic floor disorders. The survey involved 176 surgeons across different regions, establishing a comprehensive framework for intraoperative variables. Video abstract available for further insight.
