Bariatric Intervention Improves Steatohepatitis

Bariatric intervention significantly reduced BMI and intrahepatic fat in patients with obesity, leading to improvements in histologic features of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis. Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease activity score decreased significantly at various time points post-intervention. These findings suggest that bariatric intervention may be an effective alternative for obese patients with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis unresponsive to lifestyle changes or medical treatment.
