Textbook Outcome Score (TOPS) in pancreaticoduodenectomy for ampullary carcinoma showed a significant 1-year survival benefit, with 34.2% achieving a positive score. TOPS proved valuable in assessing hospital quality metrics and short-term survival, with a 6.3% failure-to-rescue rate. Major complications affected a quarter of patients, highlighting the importance of TOPS as a prognostic indicator in pancreatic surgery.
