Chlorhexidine Gluconate Reduces Incisional Infections

Subcutaneous wound soaking with chlorhexidine gluconate significantly reduces the incidence of incisional surgical site infections in patients undergoing gastroenterological surgery. A randomized controlled trial involving 363 patients showed a lower infection rate with chlorhexidine gluconate compared to the control group.
