Superior Predictive Models for Posthepatectomy Liver Failure

Novel machine learning models demonstrated better performance in predicting clinically significant posthepatectomy liver failure compared to traditional clinical scores, with pre- and postoperative artificial neural network models achieving excellent accuracy. These online interpretable models could serve as valuable decision support tools for identifying high-risk patients before and after surgery, potentially improving outcomes and mortality rates.
