Probiotic supplementation post-Roux-en-Y gastric bypass led to lower blood sugar levels (FBS and HbA1c) and increased vitamin B12 levels compared to a placebo. Both groups experienced reduced BMI, with improved gastrointestinal function based on the GIQLI questionnaire. The probiotic group showed significant enhancements in metabolic and vitamin profiles, along with GI function, without a significant impact on weight loss. This study highlights the beneficial effects of probiotics on metabolic health and gastrointestinal well-being in post-gastric bypass patients.
