New Classification System Improves Laparoscopic Treatment of Extrahepatic Choledochal Cyst

A new classification system for extrahepatic choledochal cyst (ecc) has been established through imaging clustering, unveiling types A, B, C, and D. Significant differences in comorbidities and postoperative complications were found among the types. Factors like age, BMI, and stone presence impacted operative time. Machine learning-driven analysis facilitated this novel typology creation, shedding light on laparoscopic surgery complexity and improving treatment outcomes.
