Findings demonstrate that the semi-erect position significantly improves the detection of inguinal hernia defects via sonography. In group A, defect measurements averaged 1.28 cm in the semi-erect position compared to 1.09 cm supine (p<0.001). For group B, measurements were 2.41 cm semi-erect versus 2.29 cm supine (p<0.001). In group C, averages were 3.62 cm semi-erect against 3.57 cm supine (p<0.05). These results underline the potential of this positioning in diagnostic processes.
