New nomogram predicts outcomes for gallbladder cancer patients

A novel nomogram was developed to predict clinical outcomes for gallbladder cancer patients post-surgery, incorporating inflammatory and nutritional biomarkers. It identified carcinoembryonic antigen, albumin-bilirubin, and geriatric nutritional risk index as key prognostic factors. With a c-index of 0.793, the nomogram demonstrated superior predictive ability compared to existing models, achieving area under the curve values of 0.871, 0.844, and 0.781 for 1-, 3-, and 5-year survival. Kaplan-Meier analysis indicated significant survival differences between high-risk and low-risk groups.
