A retrospective analysis revealed substantial quality of life improvements in patients undergoing abdominal wall reconstruction, as measured by the European Hernia Society quality of life (EHS-QoL) scores. Preoperative scores averaged 57 and significantly dropped to 10.5 at one year and 8 at two years postoperative. Most improvements occurred between the preoperative and one-year assessments, particularly in pain levels and limitations in heavy activities. Patients largely maintained or enhanced these improvements up to two years post-surgery.
