Modified Miccoli’s Thyroidectomy improves outcomes for DTC patients

A study of 100 differentiated thyroid cancer patients demonstrates that modified Miccoli’s thyroidectomy significantly enhances post-operative recovery compared to routine open thyroidectomy. Patients in the modified group experienced shorter hospitalization times, less intraoperative bleeding, and lower pain levels, alongside reduced stress responses and improved immune function. Notably, they reported a higher quality of life post-surgery, providing compelling evidence for the technique’s efficacy in promoting better outcomes.
