Analysis of 364 hepatocellular carcinoma patients revealed that age alone does not significantly affect overall or tumor-free survival outcomes after liver resection. Higher postoperative morbidity and longer hospital stays were observed in younger patients under 60, while the elderly exhibited no early mortality. Despite higher blood loss and longer surgeries in older groups, curative resection remains a viable option, dispelling the misconception that age should be a contraindication for surgical intervention.
