Enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) significantly improves clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and reduces medical costs. While traditionally implemented in numerous surgical specialties, recent advancements have led to ERAS protocols being adapted for new surgeries, including pediatric and robotic-assisted procedures. Although the overall costs are higher than traditional methods, the benefits for patients are substantial. Challenges such as frailty, nutrition, and training also need addressing to enhance ERAS adoption globally.
