Robotic-assisted one-stage management improves outcomes for choledocholithiasis

A recent study highlighted that robotic-assisted laparoscopic cholecystectomy with transcystic common bile duct exploration enables quicker duct clearance and shorter hospital stays. Patients undergoing this one-stage approach experienced significantly lower times for CBD clearance (45.2 hours vs. 47.0 hours), reduced length of stay (3.9 days vs. 5.1 days), and lowered radiation exposure (23.0 mSv vs. 40.3 mSv) compared to two-stage management. Importantly, complication rates and readmission rates were comparable between both groups.
