In a survey of 206 surgeons, a notable 89.3% preferred laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair, primarily utilizing the total extraperitoneal (TEP) method (60.9%). Open surgery was favored for specific patients, including those with a history of lower abdominal surgery. During intraoperative complications, 43.5-46% converted to transabdominal preperitoneal (TAPP) repair, yet 94.6% continued with TEP techniques. Young surgeons showed a stronger inclination towards laparoscopic methods, demonstrating evolving preferences in surgical approaches.
